(1836) British physician and surgeon John Cheyne passes away. He was one of the first individuals to recognize Cheyne–Stokes respiration, an abnormal breathing pattern caused by a number of conditions including heart failure and narcotic poisoning.  

(1944) American-born writer, actress, comedian, and psychotherapist Connie Booth is born. Although most famously known for writing and co-starring in Fawlty Towers, she is now established as a psychotherapist with the British Psychoanalytic Council.

(2014) American emergency physician Francis M. Fesmire passes away. His research focused on chest pain patients and monitoring systems to improve their hospitalization, such as ECG monitoring.
