(1877) German psychoanalyst Karl Abraham was born. One of Freud’s best students, Abraham focused his research on the influence of infant psychosexuality on the development of mental disorders.

(1902) French physicist Alfred Kastler was born. He worked on interactions between atoms and light which later led to the completion of the theory of lasers.

(1955) British geneticist Stephen D. M. Brown is born. His research primarily focuses on using mouse models to understand diseases and medical complications, such as deafness.
