The Willows at Worcester is a continuing care retirement community (CCRC) where active, independent adults 55 and older enjoy private residences in an environment filled with activity, amenities and a sense of community. There’s everything you need to lead a happy and healthy lifestyle: maintenance-free living, restaurant dining, social and recreational outlets, customized fitness programs and more.
If ever needed, you’ll have priority access to on-site, short- or long-term care at The Health Center at The Willows, as well as our full “continuum of care” available through SALMON’s other campuses in Westborough, Northborough, Northbridge and Sharon for assisted living, and Worcester, Westborough, Northborough and Northbridge for rehabilitation and skilled nursing services. Memory care is also available in most of our assisted living settings and skilled nursing.
Our emphasis is on choice and comfort. We offer more than 70 different floor plans of one- and two-bedroom, independent living apartments, patio and cottage homes. And, because your new home is maintenance-free, you won’t have to change another light bulb, clear a clogged sink, shovel the walkway, rake leaves or handle other such chores.
Inside, your home will have individual controls for heating and air-conditioning, hard wood flooring or wall-to-wall carpeting, washer and dryer, spacious closets and a well-designed kitchen with modern appliances. Some Willows homes feature dens, sunrooms, porches, balconies or walk-out lower level. You can also customize and upgrade, so your new home reflects even more of your personal taste and style.
Also included for your reassurance are safety features: emergency lighting, carbon monoxide sensors, smoke detectors and a 24-hour emergency response system.
Absolutely – now more than ever! When you compare your own current monthly expenses, many people find they’re close to what you would pay at The Willows CCRC. You’ll find financial benefits that help protect your assets and control your monthly expenses. Residents often appreciate having one, set monthly bill to pay, avoiding the frustrations of unpredictable expenses like erratic heating bills or costly home repairs.
It’s hard to put a price tag on peace of mind, but part of the real value of The Willows is the network of community support, friendships and interesting programming for your healthy and fulfilling lifestyle.
Here’s how it works: At The Willows, you pay a one-time Refundable Entrance Deposit, which gives you full use of your residence and all services, amenities and community spaces. This deposit is 90% refundable to you (or to your estate), should you leave The Willows for any reason.
You’ll have the option of heated, underground parking—or a private garage if you’ve chosen a patio home or cottage. The Willows also offers scheduled transportation to shopping, banking, pharmacy, and the grocery store, as well as trips to the theatre, museum and more.
For your convenience, you’ll get maintenance-free living, a fitness center, on-site banking, a beauty salon/ barbershop, general store, resident storage area, postal center, spa, and fine and casual restaurant choices.
The Willows owns all apartments and cottages within the community; you retain the use of your Willows residence for as long as you live here. This “right of occupancy” is typical in most continuing care retirement communities (CCRCs) nationwide. The arrangement can contribute to your peace of mind, knowing you’ll never have to worry about selling your home at The Willows if you choose to move, or if your health needs ever change.
The Willows at Worcester and The Willows at Westborough (a CCRC established in 1987) are operated by SALMON Health and Retirement. Now in their third generation as owners and operators, Salmon family members remain committed to excellence, high-quality care, and genuine support and concern for every person they serve.
For nearly seven decades, the Salmon family has served the area as a trusted provider of high-quality senior living and healthcare. SALMON operates campuses featuring other service levels in Natick, Northborough, Northbridge and Sharon, with another campus in Medway, MA due to open in 2021.

We Offer a "Continuum of Care"
SALMON Health and Retirement’s senior living and healthcare options address older adults at different stages of their lives, from when they’re completely independent to meeting the needs they may require as they age. That results in a continuum of care.
Our range of services includes retirement communities for active adults, assisted living residences, specialized assisted living with memory care, rehabilitation and skilled nursing centers, home and hospice care.
Salmon Family Values
The inspiration to deliver a healthier, richer life for those we serve runs three generations deep in our family and is something we believe our entire team strives for every day. That’s because founder Helen Salmon, a nurse who instilled compassion and responsibility, set our standard when she said we needed to serve others “just like family.”
Following Helen’s lead, people on the SALMON team have a habit of pitching in, working together to create the best experience for those we serve, and each other.

A History of Service
We have remained family owned and operated since our founding in 1952 by Helen and Daniel Salmon, Sr. When their son Danny, Jr., and his wife Dorothy took the reins in the 1960s, they began building and expanding the scope of services. Today, third-generation family members Matt and Andrew Salmon are actively involved in the daily operations of the organization’s campuses.
Throughout the years, the Salmons have brought an unwavering commitment to excellence and a genuine concern and respect for each individual.
